Vase Arrangement Care Guide

Want to keep that beautiful vase arrangement looking fresh and vibrant? We’ve got you covered! Follow these simple steps and you’ll be good to go.

  1. The first step is to get the flowers inside safely. This might sound like a pointless step, but flowers are very fragile, so please only lift your arrangement from the bottom. We want your flowers to last as long as possible, which is why we want to stress the little details!

  2. Place the package on a flat surface and open it carefully, then carefully lift the vase up from the box (your arrangement may not have arrived in a box if it is a basket arrangement). Your flowers should be designed just right, but if any stems got jostled on the ride over, you can just gently move them back into place. Be careful not to keep any stems out of the water for more than a couple seconds.

  3. Situate your vase arrangement away from any windows, drafts, or vents, as cut flowers are very sensitive to air, temperature, and humidity. Also be sure to keep your flowers out of harm’s way! This means be aware of little kids and pets- they’re adorable, but they do have a reputation for knocking over fragile things. There may also be flowers in your arrangement that are toxic if ingested, which is an even more important reason to keep your arrangement out of their reach!

  4. Every few days, be sure to change the water. The water will start to get cloudy and some flowers will start to droop after a little while; this is what you do when that happens:

    1. Transfer the stems to a temporary container filled with clean, cool water

    2. Empty the original vase and scrub it out with a little soapy water, then rinse thoroughly

    3. Fill the vase to about an inch below the top with clean, cool water

    4. Recut all the stems on an angle immediately before placing them in the vase
