Peperomia Care Guide

Peperomia plants are a great choice for your first plant. They are an easy house plant that can tolerate some neglect with a wide array of varieties to choose from.

You should plant your peperomia using a fast draining soil mixture as these plants are semi-succulent. I recommend using a soil moisture meter to gauge how quickly your plant is drying out. Generally peperomia should be watered every 1-2 weeks, be mindful to allow it to partially dry between waterings otherwise they will drop leaves and become wilted.

Choose a location that gets bright indirect sunlight, they can tolerate low light but should never be put in direct sun as this can scorch leaves (Scorched leaves will turn brown and crispy). An east or west facing window is ideal for these plants.

Peperomia stay relatively smalls with most varieties never growing more than a foot or two tall.

Peperomia are pet safe, nontoxic making them a great choice for anyone with pets or small children.

A few of our favorite varieties of peperomia are Watermelon peperomia (Peperomia argyreia), Metallic peperomia (Peperomia rosso), Peperomia Jelly (Peperomia clusiifolia), and Red Ripple Peperomia (Peperomia caperata). Peperomia come in a wide range of colors and foliage types
