Peace Lily Care Guide

Peace lily’s also known as Spathiphyllum are one of the hardiest indoor plants available. They will grow in almost no light although they prefer a bright room with indirect sunlight, this will encourage your peace lily to rebloom. They prefer warm humid environments, keep them away from drafty windows or cold spots in your home.

There are several varieties of peace lily’s that vary in shape and size, from small plants that only get about a foot tall to large peace lily’s that grow upwards of 3 feet tall with blooms as big as your hand!

Peace lily’s need consistently moist soil but do not like to sit in standing water. We recommend using a soil moisture meter to check this, make sure your peace lily stays in the moist level on your meter. If you ever come across your peace lily and it is floppy with dry soil, don’t worry simply water your plant immediately then follow up with a second watering later that day and your plant will transform back to its original healthy self!

Fertilize your peace lily monthly using an indoor plant fertilizer and following the product instructions, Make sure to not fertilize on dry soil as this will burn the roots of the plant.

If your peace lily develops yellow leaves this could be a sign of over watering, allow the plant to dry out more between your waterings.

In general peace lily’s are a great flowering indoor plant for beginners as they are extremely tolerant of non ideal conditions, just make sure to keep up on the water.

Peace Lily’s are toxic to people, cats, and dogs, they contain a toxin in their leaves and flowers that causes nausea and other complications. Do not keep peace lily’s in reach of curious mouths.
