Oasis Arrangement Care Guide

You may be wondering, “what’s the dark green foam that my flowers are in?” That called oasis! Florists use it in their arrangements to extend the freshness and beauty of the flowers. It also makes the arrangement super easy to care for, which is good news for you! Just follow these few steps and your arrangement should last quite a while.

  1. The first step is simple but important; getting your flowers inside safely. Be sure to lift your flowers from the bottom only! If you have a long and low centerpiece, it will most likely be in a shallow plastic dish, so be careful not to tilt the flowers. Otherwise, our products are fragile and can be a little heavy, so please be cautious when lifting them.

  2. Place the flowers indoors on a flat surface and carefully unwrap them from their packaging. If this is a gift that someone sent you, don’t forget to check the card that is stapled on the outside of the package to see who it’s from! (Just open the front page and there should be a card message written for you)

  3. Situate your vase arrangement away from any windows, drafts, or vents, as cut flowers are very sensitive to air, temperature, and humidity. Also be sure to keep your flowers out of harm’s way! This means be aware of little kids and cats- they’re adorable, but they have a reputation for knocking over fragile things.

  4. Your flowers will literally drink up the water through the oasis, so be sure to fill your container nearly to the top with cool water every day. This will ensure that none of the stems dry out, which would cause them to wilt.

  5. Recutting the stems is not necessary with oasis arrangements (like we said, super easy!), so just enjoy your flowers for as long as they last! If you’re afraid some flowers may have accidentally dried out, just carefully pull them out and recut the stems on an angle before immediately putting back into the container. Flowers kept out of water for more than a few moments need to be recut.
